The term of the Foundation Board is five years. The Foundation Board advises, supports and overseas the Board of Directors in legal matters and the by-laws in order to conform to the will of the founder.

From May 2025, the St. Marienstift Magdeburg Hospital will be new partner clinic of the Vigdis Thompson Foundation and the site of an emerging center of excellence for the specialized treatment of arachnoiditis and Tarlov cysts under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. habil.
